SNPE Matériaux Energétiques: Research and Technology
Print
A unique pole of skills and facilities in Europe
The variety of products and applications studied at SNPE Matériaux Energétiques, in civilian and military fields, relies on the mastery of numerous scientific and technological chemistry and physics subjects:
- synthesis of new molecules with the development of adapted synthesis processes,
- formulation of new materials and related forming processes to obtain high-performance items,
- characterization of the functional and accidental behavior of these materials including in their final operating system,
- digital modeling and simulation remarkably efficient due to interactions between physical model specialists and bench scientists, thus enabling models and calculation codes to be designed for development programs,
- design of innovative propelling and energetic architectures for usual energetic material operating fields and an extension to new applications.
This pole of competence benefits from remarkable facilities specifically adapted to:
- molecule, material and pyrotechnic item creation operations and their implementation at laboratory and pilot level,
- the structural, physical chemical and thermal characterization of molecules and materials,
- the measurement of mechanical, ballistic and detonic properties of charges, and their behavior regarding safety and vulnerability,
the execution of scale 1 environmental tests on items.
The incredible scientific potential of CRB (Le Bouchet Research Center - Essonne) research teams and Saint Médard-en-Jalles (Gironde, South-West France) development and industrialization division represents a unique know-how for assessing and consulting missions related to aeronautics, automotive, energy, electronics, chemistry (etc.) markets.
